There are 3 very important steps to being an actor. You have to follow all 3 of them if you want to act the right way.
The first step is called an emotional recall. It's thinking of an emotion and then thinking of a time in your life that had that emotion in it. For example I did mine on my mom dying. It was the worst time of my life. You have to use the 5 senses. I used them by telling what I saw, what i heard and more. The things I saw were people crying and everything in my house. I could hear people crying and sniffling. My whole family was at my house and gathered in my Mom and Dads room around my Moms side of the bed. I could taste tears because they were rolling down my face and onto my lips. Then when i would lick my lips I could taste the salty tears. To do an emotional recall well you have to explain things in great detail, but not too much to the point where it doesn’t make sense and is confusing.
The second step you have to learn is the transfer emotion. This is where you take a couple seconds to yourself and think about the emotion and get that emotion back into your head. The best way to do this is when it's quiet.
The third and final step you have to do is to play the emotion. You don't act out the first step which is the emotional recall. You have to act out a different story/scene that pertains to that emotion. All you do is pick a scene and act it out. The scene that I did was I acted like I got home and my Dad told me that I was moving to a different school. I sat down on the couch with a huge frown on my face. I called my friend Paige and told her what happened.
If you want to learn how to act correctly then you have to follow those 3 steps. You just have to keep practicing and you will get better. You also have to learn how to concentrate and then your acting will be much better.
